‘No change in venue’

NEW DELHI: India’s cricket board has no plans to change England’s tour itinerary despite speculation of a possible shift following deadly bombings near one of the venues. Devendra Prabhudesai, media officer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, said all venues were proceeding with arrangements for the allocated matches. He said reports about the possible shift of one of the seven one-day internationals from Gauhati was pure speculation. Local reports suggested England’s cricket board had sought a change after bomb blasts killed more than 80 people two weeks ago in Gauhati, which is scheduled to host the sixth ODI. — AP
