Pradhan U-14 champ

KATHMANDU: Akash Pradhan of Suryodaya School beat Bilos Shrestha of Puspa Sadan School 3-2 in the final to win the U-14 boys’ championship at the Hareram Joshi Memorial Table Tennis Tournament. Sunita Rai claimed the U-12 girls’ title with a win over Jelina Maharjan of Puspa Sadan in final. Likewise, Kritesh Chaudhary and Anmol Khadka advanced to the U-12 boys’ final. — HNS

LALITPUR: All three opening day matches of the C Division League Football, organised by All Nepal Football Association, ended in draws on Saturday. Bhar CT played a 2-2 draw with Charumati Youth Club, Sakchham Nagar Youth Club and Bhagwati Club were tied 1-1, and Madhyapur Youth Association and Garuda Sports Club played a 3-3 draw. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Hosts Sridiwa International School and Suvatara School won the girls’ section matches on the opening day of the Monsoon Meet 2008 Basketball Tournament on Saturday. Sridiwa edged past Wilson Academy 11-9 and Suvatara defeated Excelsior 17-7. — HNS
