Corporate Games

Kathmandu: Nepal Corporate Sports Association (NCSA) is organising the first Corporate National Games from Wednesday. A total of 390 players, including 22 women and 368 men, are taking part in the four-day event that offers gold medals in Football, Snooker, Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Tug-of-War, Athletics and Lawn Tennis, said the organisers at a press meet today. All the events will be held at the National Sports Council. — HNS

Memo handed over

KATHMANDU: Volleyball players including national team captain Bharat Shah on Tuesday handed over a memorandum to Nepal Volleyball Association. The players are demanding the concerned authorities to make sure that the 11th South Asian Games include volleyball. The discipline have been omitted for the upcoming SA Games for the first time since the inception of the regional games. The players have also warned to revolt if their demands are not taken seriously. — HNS

Five-a-side football

KATHMANDU: Sagarmatha School defeated Xavier International 6-0 in the second ABBS Five-a-side Junior Football . Raj Kumar Acharya struck a hat-trick, Kausal Dahal scored two and Pardip Acharya one goal for Sagarmatha while Nabbu Shrestha scored twice, Prabin Limbu and Sujan Pokharel added one each for Xavier. In another match, Advance Academy got a walkover win from Suryodaya School. — HNS
