KATHMANDU: Campion Academy overcame Unique Academy 62-45 in final to clinch the CPS Cup inter-college Basketball on Sunday. Laxman Shrestha, who scored 25 points for Campion today, was adjudged the most valuable player of the tournament. Rato Bangala beat hosts CPS 50-41 to finish third. — HNS

Sri Diwa lift trophy

KATHMANDU: Sri Diwa School claimed the first Inter-school Arunodaya Junior Boys Basketball Tournament here on Sunday. Sir Diwa edged Clinton 28-15 in final. Krishna Gurung top scored with 13 points for the winners and was later declared the most valuable player of the tournament. Nirmal School defeated Swornim School 15-14 in the third-place decider. Hosts Arunodaya School won the fair play award. In all, 20 teams participated in the tournament. — HNS

Tri Jyoti enter semis

KATHMANDU: Tri Jyoti School beat Josephs High School 4-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the second Daffodil Cup Inter-school Football here on Sunday. Manish Singh struck twice and Tilak Shahi and Sunil Karki added one goal each for Tri Jyoti. Prakash Karki pulled back one for Josephs. In the boys’ basketball, Pennwood beat Arniko School 43-22, Learning Realm International crushed Josephs 47-16, New Summit edged Gyan Niketan 56-52 and Mt Glory overcame Wilson Academy 58-49. In the girls’ basketball, Pennwood defeated hosts Daffodil 31-20. — HNS

NPS awarded match

BHAKTAPUR: Nepal Police School (NPS) was awarded the match after their opponent Triyog School failed to report in time at the COAS Cup Inter-school Cricket here at the Birendra Sainik Awashiya Mahavidhyalaya Grounds on Sunday. Narayan Academy will take on Rajan Memorial School in Monday’s match. — HNS
