LONDON: Newcastle beat Tottenham 3-1 on Monday to keep Spurs

in the relegation zone of the English Premier League. Obafemi Martins and Claudio Cacapa put the home side 2-0 ahead and, although Robbie Keane scored for Tottenham, substitute James Milner completed a comfortable win for the Magpies. Newcastle remained eighth in the Premier League with 17 points, 10 more than Tottenham, which stayed in 18th — above only Bolton and Derby.
