Mayos extends deal

LALITPUR: Mayos, a product of Himalayan Snax and Noodles Pvt Ltd, has extended its sponsorship deal for the fourth consecutive year with the former National League champions Nabil Three Star Club here on Monday. Mayos has increased the sponsorship from Rs 400,000 to Rs 500,000 this year. President of the club Lalit Krishna Shrestha and sales director of the Himalayan Snax and Noodles Pvt Ltd Ramesh Bista signed the Memorandum of Understanding amidst a programme on Monday. “Three Star’s strong performance, their results over the last year and commitment have motivated us to continue our association with the club,” said Bista. — HNS

KATHMANDU: President of Samajik Youth Club, Indra Bahadur Karki has been nominated to represent ‘C’ Division clubs at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Statute Amendment Committee. Bracken, Hussey out

SYDNEY: A strained hamstring and compassionate leave have ruled batsman Mike Hussey and fast bowler Nathan Bracken out of the injury-hit Australian squad for the upcoming tour of India. Selection panel chairman Andrew Hilditch said Bracken was returning to Australia to be with his wife as she prepares to give birth. Captain Ricky Ponting, who is expected to miss the opening games in India, and allrounder Shane Watson endured similar injuries in the previous two games. The Australian team is due to play the first game of their Twenty20 and one-day series against India September 29 at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. — AFP
