Day III play called off

Chittagong: Heavy overnight rain that persisted into the morning forced officials to call off third day’s play in the first Test match between Bangladesh and India on Sunday. Umpires inspected the Chittagong Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium twice on Sunday and found soggy conditions made the field unfit for play. The Test is scheduled to resume on Monday, but showers are forecast.

India are sitting on a commanding first innings total of 384 for six after winning the toss on Friday and electing to bat. Mohindra Singh Dhoni (36) and Anil Kumble (1) will resume the innings. — AP
