Mourinho arrested

London: Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was arrested and cautioned by police after an argument over his pet dog. Mourinho allegedly resisted officers who wanted to take away his Yorkshire terrier and put the dog in quarantine on grounds that it had been taken out of Britain and brought back without the required inoculations. The Sun reported on Wednesday that Mourinho refused to let police take the dog and got into an argument with officers. — AP

MANCHESTER: Manchester United’s FA Cup final hopes received another blow on Wednesday with French striker Louis Saha being ruled out of Saturday’s game against Chelsea at Wembley through injury. “Louis is out,” said United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. The blow comes one day after skipper Gary Neville was ruled out because of an ankle injury. — AFP

Warnock quits Blades

SHEFFIELD: Neil Warnock quit as manager of relegated Sheffield United after eight years in charge at the club on Wednesday. Club chairman Kevin McCabe said that Warnock would be leaving “by mutual consent.” Having led the Blades to the top flight a season ago, Warnock’s team dropped back to the Football League Championship on Sunday when it lost 2-1 at home to Wigan. — AP
