LRI beat Suryodaya :

KATHMANDU: Learning Realm International (LRI) defeated Suryodaya 33-23 in the first Inter-school Basketball Tournament organised by New Millennium College today. Jeevan Tilija of LRI and Kapil Rokaya of Suryodaya both scored 11 points each. VS Niketan edged past Galaxy Public 44-42. Bijay Gurung top scored with 26 points for Galaxy but could not avert the defeat. Fluorescent beat New Summit 40-25 in another match. Mahesh Rai scored the match winning 21 points for Fluorescent. — HNS

Progress beat Classic :

KATHMANDU: Progress Higherer Secondary School registered a five-wicket win over Classic College in the Metro Inter-college Cricket Tournament today. Classic was all out for 185 runs in 32 over. Naresh Budayer scored 80-ball 77 runs while Shakti Bhandari made 26 runs for Classic. Ujjwal Subedi took three while Khasing Rai and Devendra Singh Thakuri bagged two wickets each for Progress. In reply, Progress chased the total in 31.1 overs for the loss of five wickets. Rupesh Sharma struck half century (54) and Abhijit Shrestha scored 25 runs. Naresh Budayer claimed two wickets for Classic. — HNS
