BHAKTAPUR: Sharad Chandra Bhandari, a member of Nepal Sports Journalists’ Forum (NSJF) and a Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) journalist, is bereaved of his 15-year-old son Asmit. Asmit died at his residence in Kaushaltar on Wednesday. — HNS

Thapa off to US

KATHMANDU: Rabi Raj Thapa, president of the Nepal Boxing Association left for the US to participate in the general assembly of the International Boxing Federation. Thapa said that he would raise Nepal’s concern about development of boxing and possible international assistance. — RSS

Police arrest suspect

FRANKFURT: Police arrested a man suspected of knocking down a linesman with a full plastic cup and causing a German Cup match in Stuttgart to be abandoned. The match between Stuttgarter Kickers and Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin was abandoned 10 minutes from the end with Berlin leading 2-0. — AP
