U-14 win Subroto Cup

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Under-14 team won the Subroto Mukherjee Cup Inter-school Football Tournament beating Punjab team 1-0 in New Delhi on Thursday. Bishal Rai scored the winner in the 49th mintue. Nepali U-17 team will try to defend its title under the same tournament on Friday. The tournament has been organised by Subroto Mukherjee Education Foundation. — HNS

Women’s Football

KATHMANDU: Panchthar and Kathmandu registered comprehensive wins while Dhankuta edged past Rupendehi 1-0 on goal from Indra Chemjong in the Women’s Football Tournament. Deepa Thapa scored twice as Panchthar defeated Kanchanjangha 5-1 while Kathmandu beat Syangja 4-0. Chandra Thapa struck two goals while Uttam KC and Bhawana KC scored one apiece for Kathmandu. — HNS
