Sahu to go to US

KATHMANDU: Machhindra Club bade farewell to its player Kabin Sahu here today. Sahu is leaving for the US on Thursday for further studies. A member of Three Star Club when they won the Martyrs’ Memorial ‘A’ Division League two years ago, Kabin played for Machhindra last year. — HNS

Karki gets int’l licence

KATHMANDU: World Taekwondo Federation awarded senior taekwondo player and assistant coach Kumar Bahadur Karki with the international referee licence. Of the six Nepali coaches — Nandu Rai, Min Thapa, Ishwor Man Bajracharya, Shyam Dangol, Nabin Shrestha and Kumar Karki — only Karki succeeded to pass the examination during the 48th International Referee Seminar in Rome in November last year. — HNS

Football and athletics

KATHMANDU: Special Olympics Nepal (SON) is organising athletics and football tournament in November-December. According to the SON, a total of 18 teams, including teams from India, Bangladesh and Bhutan, will take part in the football tournament in Thimi. The organisers are also holding athletics competitions in Kathmandu. — HNS
