B’ Division League

KATHMANDU: Lal Bahadur Lama’s spectacular double strikes helped Star Club defeat Boys’ Sports Club 3-1 and Pulchowk Sports Club beat Kathmandu Club 4-1 in the Martyrs’ Memorial ‘B’ Division League on Wendesday. Pinku Ram provided the lead to Star Club in the 12th minute before Lama added next two. Ananda Ale pulled one back for Boys’ Sports Club in the 90th minute. Earlier, Raj Kumar Lama scored twice in the eighth and 17th minute and Sadhir Shrestha and Sunil Maharjan added one each in the 78th and 81st minute for Pulchowk. Saman Bhujel scored for Kathmandu Club. — HNS

National Karate C’ship

KATHMANDU: Nepal Kyokushin Karate Do in organising the eighth men’s and seventh women’s National Full Contact Karate Championship on March 31and April 1 at the Dasharath Stadium covered hall. There will be three weight categories for men — above 65kg, above 55kg and below 55kg — while only open weight will be held in women’s section. The winner and runners up in each men’s category will get Rs 5,000, Rs 2,500 and 1,200 respectively. In the women’s only category, the winner will be awarded with Rs 10,000 whereas the two runners up will get Rs 5,000 and 2,500 respectively. — HNS

Inter-club boxing

KATHMANDU: Lalitpur Boxing Association in organising the first Valley-wide Inter-club Boxing Championship from April 19-22 at Patan Durbar Square. Players from around the country will vie for nine different championship titles — 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg and 81kg. About 150 boxers are expected to participate in the championship, the organisers said. — HNS
