KATHMANDU: Gyankunja of Ravi Bhawan defeated Newrunodaya 25-13, 25-13, 25-17 and entered the quarter-finals of the first SEB Inter-school Volleyball tournament. Others to enter the last eight were Venus, Himalayan Ideal, Gyankunja (Jawal-akhel) and hosts SEB School. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Member secretary of National Sports Council Kishor Bahadur Singh welcomed Archery team that won bronze medal in the first South Asian Archery Championship held in Dhaka from February 8-11. Nepal had won bronze medal in the team event with India and Bangladesh finishing as winner and runner-up. Nepali archery team included Kishor Kumar Gurung, Dipak Raj Gurung, Prem Chochang and Yogendra Sherchan.— HNS

First Kwiks Basketball

KATHMANDU: TIA, Deep Jyoti, Prithivi, Himalayan International Ideal, Gyan Niketan, Mount Glory, hosts Greenland and Third Eye advanced to the boys’ quarter-finals of the first Kwiks Greenland Inter-school Basketball Tournament. Gyan Niketan, TIA, Lyceum, Greenland, Prithivi, Valley Public, Shrine and Himalayan International Ideal entered the girls’ section quarters. — HNS
