Paneru wins title

KATHMANDU: Pashupati Paneru of Mahendra Police Club defeated Balaram Thapa of Gyanendra Armed Police Force (APF) Officers’ Club 15-11, 15-0 to claim the men’s singles title in the third Nationwide Open Badminton Tournament, organised by Nepal Police. Sara Devi Tamang (MPC) won the women’s singles championship beating Pooja Shrestha (APF) in straight sets of 11-6, 11-1. The pair of Puspa Tamrakar and Rajendra Shanker Lama (Sunsari) claimed the veterans’ title. — HNS
