Nepal 25th in ICC list

KATHMANDU:

Nepal is ranked 25th among the 96 cricket playing nations of the world. The ICC has published the list of 20 associate and affiliate members in its quarterly publication, CricketQuarterly — based on the performance at the ICC Trophy and World Cup Qualifying Series II. Among the non-Test playing nations, Kenya is on top at 11th spot. Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Bermuda and The Netherlands — who qualified for the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies — are behind Kenya. UAE is 17th spot — on top among Asian nations, while Oman is at 20. Qatar and Kuwait are at 26th and 28th spots. — Agencies

U-14 get walkover

KATHMANDU:

The Nepali Under-14 team earned a walkover from Punjab team in their second match of the Subroto Mukerjee Cup Football Tournament, which has been organised by Subroto Mukerjee Education Foundation, in New Delhi today. The Nepali team will take on Cornicobar on Friday. — HNS
