Media Cup bowling

KATHMANDU: Nepal Bowling Association and Nepal Sports Journalists Forum are jointly organising the second Media Cup Bowling Tournament from August 21-23. In all, 18 media houses are taking part in the event to be held at three different bowling centres — Fun World, Bowling Boulevard and Shahanshah Hotel. Every team — four players including atleast a female — will play 24 games over the three days and the team accumulating the highest total pinfalls will walk away with the trophy. — HNS

Monsoon meet

KATHMANDU: Shridiwa International School is organising the Monsoon Meet 2005, an Inter-School Basketball Tournament from August 19 on the occasion of 41st Children’s Day. In all, 25 schools are taking part in the event. The teams in senior boys section are Gyan Niketan, South Point, RIBS, Ideal Model, Sambotta, Ideal English, Tripura, Shuvatara, Sridiwa, Daffodil, Young Hearts and LRI. In junior boys section, the teams are RIBS, LRI, South Point, Daffodil, Holy Garden, HIMS, Alpha, Sambotta, Young Hearts, Shridiwa, Wilson, Gyan Niketan and Shuvatara. — HNS

Dhaulagiri Cup

KATHMANDU: Dhorpatan Sports Club is organising the Dhaulagiri Cup Open Volleyball Tournament from Friday on the occasion of the 78th birthday of Queen Mother Ratna. In all, eight teams are taking part in the event. The top four teams will qualify for the Dhorpatan Cup International Male Volleyball Tournament to be held in December. — HNS
