KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association has postponed the national team training for a week after a number of players and officials contacted the COVID-19 virus.

The training was scheduled to begin on Thursday morning to prepare for the SAFF Championship and the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier Final Round.

The ANFA cited technical reason for postponing the training and rescheduled it for July 7. But sources at ANFA confirmed a total of 11 players contracted the virus along with eight officials including the staff members.

According to the ANFA official, all the 11 players are in normal health condition and two of them are at ANFA Complex and others in home isolation.

Head coach Abdullah Almutairi had called 50 players in preliminary squad and he was scheduled to conduct training in two groups by dividing the players.
