Kathmandu, September 21

National volleyball team member Pratibha Mali today left for Netherlands to undergo three-week training.

Mali was invited by Dutch Volleyball Federation for training. Mali, the brand ambassador of Sahas Sports, will participate in technical programme provided by professional clubs of Netherlands under the supervision of coach Mat van Wezel, who recently trained Nepali men’s national volleyball team. Dutch Volleyball Federation will provide Mali with accommodation, while the player bought the air tickets on her own.

Sahas Sports Chairman JanakNeupane, Nepal Volleyball Association Vice-president RanjanKhadka, Treasurer Sunkeshari Mali and NDA coach Kumar Rai bade farewell to Mali amidst a programme today.

“This is a golden opportunity for a Nepali volleyball player and we hope that Mali will be able to give the message to the world that we have international-class players in Nepal,” said Rai.

Spiker Mali said she would put in her 100 per cent in training and try to learn new skills. “I think this opportunity came to me because of my team members and supporters. Although three-week period is a short time, I will try to learn new techniques and skills in Netherlands, which will ultimately be beneficial for Nepali volleyball,” said Mali.
