Kathmandu, October 4:

Wang Yi won the KEGG Monthly Medal golf tournament organised by the Kathmandu Eagers Golfers’ Group here at the Le Meridien Gokarna Golf Resort and Spa today.

Played under strokeplay full handicap format, Yi (handicap 9) scored 68 nett points to win the monthly medal tally, one point ahead of runner up Manohar Das Mool (handicap 24).

Yi also won the special prize for his eagle on Hole No 12. Tsultrim Lama, also playing with nine handicap, finished third with 71 nett points. Wanchen Dhondup won the closest-to-the-pin award.

In all, 21 golfers took part in the montly event. Director of Le Meridien Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Spa Suman Sachdev gave away the prizes to the winners. The prizes were sponsored by CG TV and John Players.
