White House ‘A’ clinch 2nd Himalayan Cup

Binod Das and Paras Khadka scored a half century each as Himalayan White House International College defeated Capital College and Research Centre (CCRC) by seven wickets in the final of the 2nd Himalayan Cup Inter-college Cricket Tournament.

The tournament was jointly organised by Himalayan White House International College and The Himalayan Times. Electing to bat first, HWHIC ‘A’ scored 202/3 in 35 overs. Opener Kanishka Chaugain scored 11 off 16 balls, while other opener Bantu Bataju scored 21 off 30 balls. Paras Khadka and Binod Das revived the innings sharing 83-run partnership for the third wicket. Paras hit five fours in his 67-ball 53.

After Paras got out, Binod Das and Sharad Vesawkar shared unbroken 73-run partnership. Das remained unbeaten on 92 off 82 balls including eight fours and two sixes, while Vesawkar was not out on 20 off 18 balls.

In reply, CCRC could muster just 74 runs in 26.5 overs. Binod Das was named the man of the match, while Abhaya Rana of CCRC was adjudged the man of the series. TU Rector Dr Narendra Prasad Singh gave away prizes to the winners.
