White House College cruise into final
Bhaktapur, February 10:
Himalayan White House International College advanced to the final of the Wai Wai fourth KCC Inter-college Cricket Running Trophy after their six-wicket win over Classic College International here at Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya grounds today.
Electing to bat first, Classic College scored 128 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 30 overs. Classic had a poor start losing openers Shakti Bhandari (6) and Yogendra Khadka (2) cheaply. The misery was further added when Ram Nepal (3) was dismissed in the ninth over with only 37 runs on the board.
Naresh Buda Ayar (46) and Niraj Chand (30) consolidated the innings putting on 64 runs for the fourth wicket. Buda Ayer hit a six and a four in his patient 85-ball knock. None of the other Classic batsmen could reach double figures.
National team skipper Binod Das finished with 4-26 in six overs and also affected three run-outs while Prakash Chand and Prem Chaudhary took one wicket each for White House.
In reply, White House chased the total in 24.3 overs losing four wickets. Man of the match Prem Chaudhary scored 69 off 80 balls with eight fours and a six. Classic bowlers conceded 30 sundries to ease the White House reply. Puskar Rawat took two and Chandra Saud and Narsh Buda Ayar picked up one wicket each for Classic.
