Himalayan White House International College defeated College of Information and

Technology by 58 runs in the semi-final of the second KCC Running Trophy 2004 here on Sunday. Elected to bat first, HWHIC made a total of 168 runs in their allotted 30 overs, losing only six wickets. Santosh Jaiswal top-scored with 71 runs off 63 balls which included seven hits to the ropes besides a six. Rajen Karmacharya took 35 off 47 balls with a six and four boundaries while Raj Shrestha took 15 off 22 balls and Prem Chaudhary scored 11 off 22 balls including a four.

For CIT, Dipu Pandey grabbed two wickets conceding 20 runs in six overs while Manish Udas and Bijay Shrestha claimed a wicket apiece, giving away 42 and 22 runs in six overs each.

In reply, CIT were bowled out for 110 runs in 25 overs. Rajiv Shrestha top-scored with 26 runs facing 35 balls, including two boundaries. Mayush Kuinkel took 24 off 23 balls with two fours while Prashan Lal Shrestha made 10 runs off 20 balls.

For HWHIC Pravash Pokharel and Himal Thapa claimed two wickets apiece, conceding 19 and 17 runs in six anf four overs respectively. Rajiv Thapa, Yogesh Giri and Raj Shrestha took one wicket apiece conceding 20, 15 and 10 runs respectively in four overs each while Sabin Udas grabbed a wicket, giving away 26 runs in six overs. Santosh Jaiswal of HWHIC was declared man of the match for taking 71 runs.
