White House enter Himalayan Cup semis

Yashwant Subedi took four wickets as Himalayan White House International College (HWHIC) ‘B’ beat Kantipur City College (KCC) and entered the semi-finals of the second Himalayan Cup Inter-college Cricket Tournament, which has been jointly organised by HWHIC and The Himalayan Times, here today. Batting first, KCC were bowled out for 97 runs in 25 overs. Except openers Mohan Shahi (21) and Dipendra Rai (10) and Diwakar Ojha (19), other batsmen failed to reach the double figure mark, as man of the match Subedi ran through tail order claiming 4-17 off four overs. Santosh claimed two wickets and Lakpa Lama and Pranesh pocketed one wicket each for HWHIC. In reply, HWHIC overcame the target losing one wicket in 15 overs. Opener Lakpa Lama scored an unbeaten 36 off 41 balls including seven hits to the fence. Other opener Prem Chaudhary scored a quick fire 42 off 31 balls which included eight fours before falling to Amit Sharma. Sovit Lal hit one boundary in his unbeaten 20-ball 12. The other quarter-final match between Capital College and National College was postponed. According to the organisers, the schedule for the match will be announced later. HWHIC ‘A’ and Kathmandu University have already entered the semi-finals.
