BHAKTAPUR: Makawanpur Cricket Club defeated SMC Baneshwor by 184 runs to keep their hopes alive for the Khukuri Challenger T20 Cricket Tournament quarter-finals.

In the Group A match at the Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya grounds, Ravi Thapa scored a fiery 33-ball 77 helped Makwanpur score 241-6. Man-of-the-match Thapa hit 13 boundaries and a six. Maniraj Poudel scored 47 off 34 hitting six boundaries.

In reply, SMC were bowled out for 57 runs in 15.1 overs. Suraj Khadka (11) scored in double figures for SMC. Makwanpur’s Om Prakash Sah picked up three wickets.
