Winners of Huddle 2017 awarded

Kathmandu, August 13

Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in Nepal, Graham Paul Murphy today handed over the trophies and certificates to the winners of the Inter-school A-Level Futsal Tournament ‘Huddle 2017.’

Saipal Academy had defeated GEMS Institute of Higher Education 3-1 in penalty shootout after both the teams played a 2-2 draw in regulation period of the final match at the Samakhusi Futsal on Saturday. Murphy handed over the awards and medals to the winners amidst a programme in Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, Global Reach Nepal, who had organised the tournament, also announced the individual award winners. Mukesh Saba of Saipal won the best player’s award, while Somesh Joshi and Uddhav Shrestha of GEMS received the best goalkeeper and highest scorer awards respectively. Similarly, Ashish Karki of Little Angels’ College was named the best defender, while GEMS’ Samir Nemkul was adjudged the best coach.  Ace A-Level Academy got the fair play award.

A total of 16 teams from the A-Level schools of Kathmandu valley competed in the one-day tournament sponsored by Sponsor energy drink. The Himalayan Times was the official media of the event which was supported by University of Technology Sydney, Western Sydney University, Study Group, Australian Catholic University, ECA Global, Macquarie University, Bhojdeals and Chirayu Hospital.
