Beckenbauer’s pressure
BERLIN: As Jurgen Klinsmann mulls his future former Germany coach, Franz Beckenbauer is urging him to “complete the job” and do another cycle. “If he had won the title I could understand him stepping down — but as it is he must carry on to complete what he has started with this team,” Beckenbauer said.

TURKMENISTAN: TV audiences for the World Cup have been breaking all records and according to FIFA some four in ten viewers are women. But people in Turkmenistan have it a little tougher. Their country is the only one of FIFA’s 207 members which does not receive the TV signal to broadcast the tournament directly into peoples homes, although some viewers have managed to catch games on Russian satellite TV.
