KATHMANDU: Xavier International College and White House College won the titles of the third Xavier Cup U-19 Basketball Tournament here on Wednesday.

Hosts Xavier defeated Reliance 62-47 in boys’ section final to complete the hat-trick of titles. Chhewang Bista of Xavier top scored in the match with 19 points, while his teammate Rabin Gautam was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

In girls’ section, White House dashed Saipal’s hopes of winning the third straight title with a 48-34 victory. Dolly Tamang, who was later named the MVP, scored 14 points for White House.

President of Nepal Basketball Association Lama Tendi Sherpa and Chief Executive of Xavier International College Lok Bahadur Bhandari handed over the prizes to the winners.
