KATHMANDU: Ajit Kumar Yadav and Bhumi Budha Magar won the Valleywide Inter-school Road Race titles here on Tuesday.

Yadav completed the 5-km distance in 17 minutes and 42.1 seconds to finish first ahead of Anup Khanal and Khadak Budha Magar in the boys’ section. Likewise, Bhumi Budha Magar won the girls’ 3-km race in 14 minutes and 14 seconds, while Sharmila Chhetry and Sunita Shrestha came second and third respectively.

The top three athletes in both the categories received Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.

Education Minister Chitra Lekha Yadav handed over the prizes to the winners of the race organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports and National Sports Council.
