The role of a coach in football is immense as he is the one to make strategy and implement it through his players. He is the person to decide the players’ movement and make his players foil the opponents’ plan.

Coach is the man behind the curtain and a game maker. Players are stars, but it his the coach who is more often the man who earns them their stardom. His job isn’t just limited during the game. He grooms players, make them perform to their potential. To recognise their crucial role, Yamaha Motors India Pvt Ltd has announced a Yamaha G5 motorcycle for the best coach of the ongoing Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League. In the last two editions, the coaches that claimed the league title was awarded with the award. Dhruba KC was declared the best coach when Three Star won the title two years ago, while Chhiring Lobsang Gurung bagged the Yamaha G5 when Manang Marsyangdi clinched the trophy last year. KC is with Gyanendra APF this year, while Gurung is still with the MMC.

Babukaji Dhaubanjar is leading the current leader Tribhuvan Army Club while Bal Gopal Maharjan is the in charge of Nabil Three Star. Raju Shakya is looking after NRT while Shyam Mali is largely responsible for improved performance of Boys Union Club recently. Mahendra Police Club have hired Birat Shrestha. As in the past, the coach of the champion team is more likely to win the honours.
