Yellers enter final

Kathmandu, January 24:

Yeti Airlines Yellers entered the final of the Dabur Chayawanprash Pro-40 Cricket Tournament with a two-wicket win over Shangri-La Sharks here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today.

Electing to bat first, the Sharks were all out for 134 in 40 overs and the Yellers chased the total for the loss of eight wickets in 30 overs. With three wins in as many matches, the Yellers became the only team to remain unbeaten in the four-team tournament.

Karun Ojha top-scored with 24 off 28 balls for the Sharks. Ojha struck two fours and a six in his innings. Sujan Thapa contributed 20 off 28 balls

and Amir Akhtar chipped in 22 but consumed 64 balls scoring it. Manoj Sood also scored 17.

Raju Basnyat was the pick of the Yellers’ bowlers with 4-15 from eight overs that earned him the man of the match award. Kalam Ali (2-24) and Sharad Vesawkar (2-44) claimed two wickets each while Vijay Thapa bagged one (1-12).

In reply, Vijay Thapa scored unbeaten 21 off 17 balls and Paresh Lohani made 21 off 34 balls. Vesawkar contributed 36-ball 19 and Subhash Khakurel 15 from 23 balls. Birendra Shah took 4-43 from eight overs for the Sharks while Basanta Regmi (2-10) and Karun Ojha (2-40) bagged two wickets each.
