PM and Oli meet at Singhadurbar
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and the Chair of the main opposition CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli held a meeting at the former's office at Singhadurbar on Thursday.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal requested Chair Oli to create an environment conducive for the second phase of local level elections slated for June 14, by endorsing the constitution amendment bill that had been tabled at the Legislature-Parliament, according to PM's Secretariat.
The duo had a consensus that consultation would be made with the Election Commission, major political parties and the Madhes-centric parties in relation to the second round of the local level elections (June 14) and the fiscal budget, which must be unveiled on May 29 as per the Constitution, stated the Secretariat.
The duo talked about local level elections, constitution amendment, impeachment motion filed against the Chief Justice Sushila Karki and the forthcoming fiscal budget including other issues.
During the meeting, Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Subash Nembang, respectively from the PM's party CPN Maoist Centre and UML, were present.
