Prez decision right: Khanal

GHORAHI: CPN-UML president Jhalanath Khanal said a ceremonial president can’t make mistakes and therefore the resolution proposal could not be put before the Constitutional Assembly. He denied the claim of Maoists, who blamed the President for taking the wrong decision by using his executive powers. He claimed that the President took the right decision in ignoring the government’s decision to reinstate Rookmangud Katawal to his post.

Khanal was speaking to reporters after attending the district level meeting. He requested all the party members not to engage in unnecessary affairs because the need of the hour is to draft the constitution and to take the peace process to its logical end.

He said,”Until the UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML are united it will be impossible to draft the constitution. Therefore everybody needs to concentrate on the main issue.”
