RKTY visitors to be put up in villages
Mugu, April 12
Visitors attending the Rara Karnali Tourism Year programme will be accommodated in villages near Rara National Park.
The Rara Karnali Tourism Year inauguration programme is scheduled for April 14, 2018. The visitors are being provided accommodation in nearby villages as the only two hotels — Danfe Hotel and the Village Heritage Resort — located near the Rara Lake do not have the capacity to accommodate all the visitors.
The District Coordination Committee has made arrangements for providing the accommodation to the visitors in the villages.
Arrangements have been made for home stay facilities for visitors at Majhghatta, Murma, Jhyari, Salleri, Pina, Topla, Talcha, Mathituma and Lamachaur, Chief District Officer Umakanta Adhikari said.
CDO Adhikari said that home stay services would be provided in these villages to visitors coming to Rara throughout the year.
A team comprising CDO Adhikari, Chief of the District Coordination Committee Purna Bahadur Rokaya, Mayor of Chhayanath Rara Municipality Hari Jung Shahi, Deputy Mayor Suntala Rokaya and the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Mugu district chapter, had taken initiatives for the home stay facility for visitors.
One youth committee has been constituted at each village to provide the home stay service and the youths associated with the committee will take the visitors coming to their village for home stay for a visit around Rara Lake. They will also control alcoholic drinks in their village and carry out other social works.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the Rara Karnali Tourism Year.
