Shop to your heart’s content
Kathmandu
Kichapokhari is the heart of Kathmandu. And every shopper can shop to their heart’s content here — from fish to clothes to electronics, you get everything here. At the ever flourishing shopping destination, Park Plaza is a new addition. It offers you unisex clothing, shoes, accessories and many more along with a eatery to satiate your hunger, and ample parking space.
New offerings
Spreading in an area of around 7500 square feet, the eight-storied building located opposite of People’s Plaza, is attractive due to its modern structure and colours — red and grey. It opened to customers on January 1 putting forward national and international branded items — clothing, shoes and bags among others.
“Initially we had planned the Plaza as an IT (Information, Technology) hub, selling all kinds of products dealing with IT. Due to the demand of the area for ready-made wears and accessories, many booked the spaces for such stores. So, now you get clothing, shoes, bags, home decor items and many more here,” Devendra Khadgi, Co-ordinator of Park
Plaza informed.
With new entry in the town, Park Plaza has put up various schemes to “attract customers and be different from other plazas or super markets”. Khadgi elaborated, “We have opened a coupon system under Park Bumper Lucky Draw where four lucky customers can win different prizes — scooter, 32 inches LED TV, washing machine and microwave oven.”
One who buys product(s) above Rs 500 at any store of the Plaza gets a coupon of lucky draw as per Khadgi, and will be eligible for these prizes. The offer is valid till July 15. Moreover, various musical performances in its lobby every Friday, and gift for lucky audiences are other perks alongside discounts from 10 to 50 per cent at the stores.
Stores and more
As you enter the Plaza, you will find a spacious lobby. A parking area and a food court are below the lobby (underground), while several stores surround the lobby.
Clothing, home decor items, shoes and bags among others occupy the ground, first and second floors of the building. And Khadgi shared that “the Plaza has around 30 stores”.
At Dream Home Decor on the ground floor, you can shop bed sheets, pillows, cushions, quilts, blankets, towels, et cetera, all imported from India. Opposite to it is men clothing store, Uni Men where you can get all the clothing items for men.
Shopping at the Plaza for the first time was Sunil Joshi and he liked “its environment. It’s neat, attractive and you get everything you are looking for”. For customers like Joshi, there is a good news. Indian brand Being Human will be gracing the Plaza soon. Khadgi informed, the store of Being Human will open on the first floor.
Providing repairing facility at his bag store — Harati Maa Bag House — along with varieties of bags is Utsav KC. “We have all kinds of bags, all imported from China. We also have repairing facility. As the plaza is newly established you can get fresh products in reasonable price,” he stated.
Other than shopping stores, the building has a bank (fourth floor) and health clinics (fifth floor). Rest of the floors — sixth, seventh and eighth are for office purposes. Some spaces are left to be occupied, which Khadgi believes, will be filled within two months.
