Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in self-quarantine at home.
Spokesperson of the actor issued an official statement to confirm the same. He said that that the Dangal-actor was doing fine and was abiding by all the prescribed protocols.
Similarly, the spokesperson also appealed those who had come in contact with Khan in the recent past to get tested for the infection as a precautionary measure.
Aamir Khan is the latest mainstream actor to have contracted the respiratory infection. Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor too had tested COVID-19 positive.
India is currently grappling with the second wave of the deadly infection as fresh cases continue to rise at an alarming rate. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India, there are 368,457 active cases of Covid-19 in India while 160,441 deaths have been recorded.
