LONDON: British Prime Minister Gordon Brown will defend the limited progress made by world leaders toward a new global pact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions as he faces questions from senior lawmakers. Brown is scheduled to appear before Parliament’s Liaison Committee, a panel comprised of the heads of each specialist scrutiny committee of the House of Commons. The session will be Brown’s last before the country’s next national election, which he is widely tipped to lose.
