Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 strikes in Tajikistan, near Afghan border
KABUL/ISLAMABAD: An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck on Wednesday in the Central Asian nation of Tajikistan, in its mountainous border region near Afghanistan, the United States Geological Survey said.
Workers left buildings in Kabul and Pakistani media reported the quake was felt in Islamabad, the capital, and the northwestern city of Peshawar.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties.
The US Geological Survey reported a magnitude 6.2 earthquake centred in Tajikistan, near the Afghan border.
