Dhaka, January 31:

The US is considering Bangladesh’s request for FBI assistance in probing the blast at the opposition Awami League rally that killed four people but has asked for clear terms of reference to ensure full access to all evidence and witnesses.

US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca telephoned Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan from Washington yesterday and explained the American government’s position on Bangladesh’s request for FBI assistance. Rocca expressed “her outrage at January 27 attack on an Awami League rally that led to the death of former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria and others”, reports said.
