TEHRAN: Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei prevented Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from kissing his hand during a ceremony on Monday to approve his presidency, the official IRNA news agency reported. “Just like four years ago... Ahmadinejad wanted to kiss his hand, but the leader prevented him from doing so,” IRNA said. “So then he (Ahmadinejad) asked that he be allowed to kiss the leader’s shoulder and the request was granted by the leader with a smile.” TV footage showed Khame-nei taking a step back as Ahmadinejad bent towards him to kiss his hand.
