Ranchi, March 13:
Arjun Munda, the new chief minister of Jharkhand has delayed by a day to Tuesday the trust vote he is to seek. Technical reasons have delayed Munda’s seeking the trust vote of his Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government. Though Munda had announced he would seek a trust vote tomorrow, sources said 24 hours are needed for advertisement of speaker’s post and the election. “We had requested the governor to administer oath to Karia Munda as pro-tem speaker on Saturday night. But the governor refused, saying he was tired,” an official said. “As per the rule, 24 hours is needed after the advertisement is put up. If the pro-tem speaker had taken oath on Saturday, we would have come out with advertisement on Sunday and on Monday election of speaker could have been done.” Today morning, Governor Syed Sibtey Razi administered oath to Karia Munda, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator, as pro-tem speaker. Pradeep Balmuchu, who had been appointed as pro-tem speaker resigned yesterday.
