Police say 1 dead, several injured in Indonesia clashes
JAKARTA: Indonesian police say one person has died and seven are injured from clashes that followed a protest by hard-line Muslims in the capital, Jakarta.
Jakarta police spokesman Awi Setiyono said Friday an elderly man died, possibly from the effects of tear gas. He said four civilians and three police officers were injured.
Clashes broke out between police and hard-core protesters who refused to disperse following nightfall.
