NEW DELHI: Indian Defence Minister AK Antony has said that the nexus between China and Pakistan in the military sphere was of serious concern.

Addressing the 44th Foundation Day Celebrations of the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, here today, the minister said, “We’ve to carry out continuous appraisals of Chinese military capabilities and shape our responses accordingly. At the same time, we need to be vigilant at all times.” He, however, hoped that China would reciprocate India’s trust-building initiatives.

On Pakistan, Antony said that India needed to closely monitor political developments in that country.

“Pakistan was yet to demonstrate willingness to take speedy action against terrorists and international criminals,” he added.

He urged Islamabad to put an end to terror networks on its soil, which, he maintained was alive and kicking.
