RANCHI: Six people were killed in fighting between rival Maoist outfits in Latehar district of Jharkhand. KUALA LUMPUR: Thirteen children and an adult from a remote tribe have died in a measles outbreak in a Malaysian state on Borneo island, reports said on Sunday. The outbreak started about three weeks ago, with the last death recorded a few days ago, the Sunday Star said. — AP

HONG KONG: Prominent Chinese law expert Xiao Weiyun, an opponent of full democracy who helped draft Hong Kong’s mini-constitution, has died. He was 81. Xiao, a law professor at Beijing’s renowned Peking University, died of a heart attack on Saturday in Macau, Xinhua reported. — AP

Pak guards nab Indians

QUETTA: Pakistan security forces arrested 29 Indian citizens for allegedly entering the country illegally from Iran, an official said on Sunday. The Indians said Iranian border guards detained for 10 days while they were trying to cross into Turkey on their way to Europe, said Barkat Ali, a police official in Pakistan’s Taftan. Iranian security forces allegedly “pushed” the Indians over the border into Pakistan on Saturday, Ali said. — AP
