Thai Oppn move

Bangkok: Opposition parties filed an impeachment motion against a deputy prime minister for allegedly concealing his assets, a spokesman said on Wednesday. Deputy Prime Minister Wan Noor Matha is the second minister to face impeachment proceedings this year. The opposition earlier filed a similar complaint against Education Minister Adisai Bodharamik for alleged abuse of authority. Wan Noor has been targeted for being "unusually rich and concealing assets," said opposition Democrat party spokesman Hong-art Klampaiboon. Observers say the impeachment is unlikely to succeed as the National Counter Corruption Commission, last year cleared him of similar charges. —AP
