Nepal Oil Corporation enforces rationing of fuel

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation has enforced rationing of petroleum products as the stock started dwindling following continuous obstruction in supply of petroleum products from India to Nepal.

The state-owned monopoly made the decision to implement the rationing from tomorrow and fixed quota for different vehicles, according to NOC Spokesperson Deepak Baral.

As per the decision, two-wheelers will get three litres and private cars 10 litres per week.

On the other hand, microbuses will get 15 litres, minibuses 20 litres and bigger public vehicles including school buses 30 litres per day*, Baral informed.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has already enforced odd-even licence plate from today.

For public vehicles, fuel will be distributed on the basis of odd-even licence plate system on alternate days.

"Fuel stations will mark stamp on the bill book to implement the ration system properly," Baral said.
