Constitution amendment in national consensus: Nayak

KATHMANDU: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajaya Shankar Nayak said that the Constitution amendment proposal would be tabled in the Parliament with a national consensus.

Addressing journalists at an interaction in Kathmandu on Monday, Minister Nayak said that the Constitution amendment proposal would address issues of state delineation, citizenship, language and the National Assembly.

Saying that talks regarding the delineation have been carried out, Minister Nayak informed that the Federal Commission would be established and an appropriate decision would be taken based on its report.

Minister Nayak said that as there have been talks between ruling parties, opposition and agitating parties about the Constitution amendment, they would find a common point about this issue.

"Everybody should try to forge the national consensus; nobody should do any act resulting into any internal disorder." said Nayak.

During the programme, he also made it clear that there had not been any agreement with the Madhesi parties about the issue of naturalised citizenship.
