Held for involvement in murder bid

KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday arrested a person for his alleged involvement in a murder attempt of Nepali Congress leader Min Krishna Maharjan in Lalitpur district. Maharjan was shot in Dhapakhel of Lalitpur on January 18, 2014. A team from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division nabbed Ganga Prasad Limbu, 31, from Baneshwor on Sunday. Limbu, a permanent resident of Maheshpur VDC, Jhapa, had been at large after committing crime, said police. He was a member of a gang led by Sujan Paudel aka Ramesh Bahun. According to an FIR filed by victim’s brother Shyam Krishna Maharjan, Bahun had attacked Min Krishna. Limbu has been handed over to Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Range.

Suspect arrested

KATHMANDU: A man was arrested on Sunday on charge of murdering an auto workshop worker in Kathmandu. A team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division nabbed Umesh Bikram Bista aka Bigyan, 32, a resident of Hatiya in Makawanpur. Police said that Bista had murdered Ashok Khadka, 21, a staffer at Sagar Automobile Workshop in Mhepi on July 17. Khadka was a permanent resident of Mali, Dolakha. The arresteed was coworker of Khadka at the same workshop. His body was found in a vehicle in  the workshop’s garage on July 17. The suspect has been handed over to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Lainchaur, for further investigation.
