Duo jailed for smearing soot on Lok Man Singh Karki

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Monday slapped one month's jail term to each of the persons who had smeared black soot on the then Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Chief Lok Man Singh Karki.

Karki was misbehaved while he had come to the SC to serve his date on December 22, 2016.

A division bench of justices Anand Mohan Bhattarai and Anil Kumar Sinha issued the order that Prakash Shahi and Chandra Bahadur Budha be sentenced to one month in prison for smearing soot on Karki's face.

Both of them were held by the police after the incident.

A case of contempt of court had been filed against the duo.
