NEA Board of Directors reconstituted

KATHMANDU: The government has appointed three new members in the Nepal Electricity Authority Board of Directors today.

A meeting of Council of Ministers, held on December 15, had appointed Bhakta Bahadur Pun of Rukum, Chetraj Joshi of Bajhang and Umesh Prasad Thani of Surkhet in the Board of Directors.

The new members were selected after the dismissal of Manoj Kumar Mishra, Laxman Prasad Agrawal and Suraj Lamichhane.

They were sacked for obstructing the reform process initiated by the NEA Managing Director Kul Man Ghising.

According to Krishna KC, the Personal Secretary of the Energy Minister Janardan Sharma, the meeting of the reconstituted board held today made decisions on various issues.

The Board, chaired by Energy Secretary Anup Kumar Upadhyay, also includes NEA Executive Director as the Member Secretary and Finance Secretary Shantaraj Subedi and Chandra Tandon as members.
